Our Story
The Penthouse Salon was founded by Bethany Barrant with the vision of creating a luxury salon experience centered around healthy textured hair care, education, and community. Located just outside of Boston, our salon was built to provide Black women and women with textured hair a space where they feel seen, valued, educated, and cared for.
As a self-funded, Black woman-owned business, The Penthouse Salon was created with intention — combining luxury service with a strong foundation in hair health and professionalism. We specialize in silk presses, natural hair care, extensions, curls, braids, and customized treatments designed to maintain the integrity of the hair while achieving beautiful, long-lasting results.
Our salon experience goes beyond the chair. From luxury shampoo services and steam treatments to personalized consultations and elevated client amenities, every detail is designed to create an environment that feels welcoming, relaxing, and empowering.
Education is also at the core of who we are. As a teaching salon, we are passionate about mentoring the next generation of stylists through assistant training programs, hands-on education, workshops, and textured hair classes. We believe textured hair education deserves more attention within the beauty industry, and we are committed to helping bridge that gap through real-world training and mentorship.
In addition to salon services, we offer our own luxury raw hair extension line, carefully curated to blend seamlessly with textured hair while maintaining quality and longevity.
